Challenges of a Voluntary Service in India

The better the understanding of the foreign culture gets the more it increases openness for it. A competence in dealing with and adapting to the other culture develops and positive feelings and expectations prevail – so that also the mental health and well-being gets better again. This acculturation leads to a bicultural competence, meaning that there is a natural confidence in moving in the other culture as well as an adaptation of attitudes and ways of thinking.
