The better the understanding of the foreign culture gets the more it increases openness for it. A competence in dealing with and adapting to the other culture develops and positive feelings and expectations prevail – so that also the mental health and well-being gets better again. This acculturation leads to a bicultural competence, meaning that there is a natural confidence in moving in the other culture as well as an adaptation of attitudes and ways of thinking.
The greatest crisis has also given birth to the greatest transformation in history. It can offer immense hope in ushering a new world.
